Glove Trend

Updated: Apr 24, 2023

It's an accessory that isn't going anywhere, ever since Bridgerton hit our screens we've seen them pop up everywhere and remain from red carpets, and runways to the bridal runway being the aisle, and rightly so.

Celebrities who are always keen to be styled in the most sought-after trends have said their I-dos in them too recently from the likes of Hayley & Nicole.

One thing for sure is I don't see this trend going away any time soon, usually referred to as an Opera glove given they've proven that you can wear them at any event you like and make your look that little bit extra as the celebs below.

Think of them as the cherry on top of your look.

This is why when I was sketching up the collection I instantly sketched up some glove looks, some traditional long sleeve ones, gathered ones but also the one I'm referring to as the Shirt Sleeve. I wanted to create that overhang that some oversized shirts have with the cuff hanging just over the knuckles as I like the style of that.

I fell in love with this pearl fabric the second I sourced it, you may have seen the cape I've sampled in it already too, it's made from nylon and is super soft and delicate. If you've read a previous post about my choice in fabrics you will have seen me mention that the fabrics that I source that aren't of sustainable credentials are ones that are already produced and are selected for their circular intentions knowing that it's a classic fabric that won't be fallen out of love will and Can remain in a personal wardrobe for many seasons to come.

I knew it was going to look amazing in this style and it does! It's cut so it runs up your arm like the opera glove length whilst having a little engineering trick to give it that shirt look.

The shirt sleeves are made in my studio here in Yorkshire and are size inclusive, there are no limits on the size request you beautiful brides might want- beautiful items have no size limit within my collection.

These are available to order in White or Ivory ahead of the full collection launch in spring and retail at £98.

To celebrate the opening of my studio I'm running a competition over on the instagram where you can win yourself a pair of these, head on over to enter now or drop me an email to place your order!
